Shape writer technology on portable gaming consoles

I have owned a psp since it first came out and one thing about it has always been a gripe of mine. The fact that typing on it sucks big time. There hasn’t been much of an effort to correct how terrible typing on a psp can be. It’s frustratingly difficult and a pain. Then I started playing with writingpad a shape writing technology app for the iPhone where you can draw the word instead of typing it. If this can be maniputated or interpreted so words can be scrolled on instread of touched could be loads easier then clicking on a button a hundred times to get to the letter you want. Lord help you if you missed a letter then you have to start over to find the letter you just missed. But if you can just draw on a virtual keyboard then typing will in essence be much easier. Just an idea out there for any one ***cough Sony*** who would like to incorperate this technology in to their products.

Always make a backup

Well it was bound to happen I flashed a PSP and it went bad. I should have made a backup of the flash0 but for some reason I didn’t do it and now I’m stuck with a partially functional PSP. So what is todays lesson always make a back up of what your working on. Especially if it is something important. It doesn’t matter if its a word document or flashing the bios on your computer make a backup somehow so you can at least have a chance to restore in the event of a catastrophe. In my case its just another lesson learned. So maybe I can use this as an excuse to get a PSP Slim, maybe I can break that too lol.

Spaceinvaders extreme

Its back again and better then ever if you loved shooting these strange looking aliens then you will still love shooting them now. Back in the day all the aliens would do was stay in a line and when you were about to shoot the last few they would get very quick. Well now they do not stay in a straight line waiting to be shot at they move around. They have become smarter and harder to kill. Some of them make kamikaze moves to take you out faster. I know it sounds like they made them too smart and in tern made a fun game frustrating. Well its the opposite, its difficultly is what makes this game fun. Don’t worry now you get all sorts of new moves and power ups to combat the aliens such as bombs, lasers, spreadgun, and shields. Not like how the shields used to be a barrier to hide behind the shields now forms over you not slowing down the action. Now I am going to have to eat my words I stated that the DS version would not be as good as the PSP. Well it just might be better it all depends on what type of gamer you are. If you would rather have a prettier looking more polished version get the psp one. If you don’t mind it not looking as good and would rather have more gameplay modes and multiplayer modes then get the ds version. There is also a bit of strategy involved you can hold on to a power up by holding the right trigger giving you more time to use it on the next swarm. So what is my final verdict you should pick this up with no questions asked its fun and tell a friend to pick one up also. But the DS has game sharing so they can play you with out it, but they will want their own. (more…)

Space Invaders Extreme Exclusive Gameplay from Encript on Vimeo.

Here it is for those who like old school shooters I think this is something you will like. Kinda of like how nintendo remade tetris for the ds with cool music and new moves. Well taito corporation for space invaders 30th anniversary have refreshed the old school game. Exclusively for the playstation portable console and Nintendo DS space invaders extreme is just that EXTREME. With new powers and music I can safely say this shooter is new once again it has a nice portable feel to it just pick it up and play. I can honestly say this game is hard but not to hard to through off the casual gamer it has a good mix of difficulty starting off easy and then getting EXTREME. But the EXTREME part picks up rather quickly. This will be officially available on June 17th 2008 enjoy. Now I personally think the PSP version will be better then the DS because it can handle better music tracks and flashier effects. No way you can play this with a stylist either. Now before I leave let me say EXTREME one last time ok there im done.

PSP Custom Firmware Update 3.10 OE-A2 to 3.52 M33 from Encript on Vimeo.

Yeah I know this is actually pretty old news but since 3.95GEN is out many people need to know how to get on a M33 firmware so here is a start because you need to be on atleast 3.71 M33 to install the new 3.95 GEN. I’m actually going to wait till maybe some add on is released for this firmware before I actually jump on the bandwagon. I don’t see any reason right now for me to upgrade since nothing that new as been introduced. There is an HD link of the video if you have problems looking at it or it seems blurry.

PSP Type B Issue resolved

If you have been wondering why you cannot connect your psp as usb type b I might have your solution here. If you have downgraded your psp using older downgraders and not the pandora method you most likely have corrupted keys. The keys became all scrambled on TA-82/86 motherboards back when these downgraders first came about. As ingenious as this method was it ended up leaving things a little unfinished. Some of these keys are responsible for correctly recognizing your device as a psp when you hook it up to your computer. I struggled for quite a long time to find a reasonable solution but it seems that most people don’t care. If you googled this you might have thought this was a vista issuse but it is not. Allow me try and assist you the best way that I can. This will not work on slim (more…)

April Fool

Hahahahahahha you soooooooo got me when you released a new firmware 3.90M33-3 update which corrects better compatibility for NO UMD mode. So now Patapon was able to work and all was right with the world. Then I go to play Burnout Dominator and in the middle of the game the race comes to a sudden crash. This happens right when I was about to get gold on a level that I have a hard time getting gold for. Now this is not the type of crash you would expect from a burnout game but rather a system crash. So my system reboots itself and my pink april background is now green like last months color. I check my system information, it now states my mac address as 33:33:33:33:33:33 and firmware 3.33M33 with the date March 33. March 33 hahaha every one knows that march doesn’t have that many days. Or does it? lol So after a few attempts to make it April 2nd it wouldn’t take so I instead changed it to April 3rd. So just leave it on April 3rd and then fix it again tomorrow. Hhahahahaha bastard. Check out the video (more…)

PSP Explodes

A Playstation Portable blows up in a students pocket burning a hole through his pants. The student suffered minor burns to his leg. What could have caused such an over heating in this device allowing it to explode. This is yet undetermined, Police are still investigating. While Sony says it is an isolated occurrence, this wouldn’t be the first time a Sony product with malfunction battery exploded. Hmmm reminds me of a certain laptop incident read here and here too.
