iPhone 3G Unlock finally a reality

I sure did pick a good time to buy an iPhone 3G. Coincidence? Well it must have been intuition or something because right when my new iPhone 3G shows up at my door the iphone dev team announces that there is an unlock method. This method is currently being packaged so that regular guys like joe six pack can unlock his shiny new iPhone. Now I am no “joe” when it comes to unlocking but I will wait patiently like everyone else and post a nice how too once this is available. Iphone dev team blog link they plan on releasing this bad boy on 1-1-2009 maybe right while the ball is being dropped in new york. So i’m sure the nerds will be hitting f5 on the keyboard while the countdown is going off (this might be me). If you updated your firmware the the dev team did warn you against this because they say the unlock currently only works on baseband 2.11.07.
