I have recently been selling a lot of things on eBay to make some extra cash in these hard economic times. I have been selling expensive Dell Laptops. But I must warn you when you are selling expensive items on eBay such as laptops, please be cautious of who you sell to. Please be cautious of people who would rather pay the full price instead of intelligently bidding on your item. Especially when your item is about to end and no one has bid on it why would you use buy it now for? A scammer will be in a hurry to purchase your item. Please be aware of this tactic also be aware if the person sends you extra money that you did not request. If they send you money without first discussing with you the reason why they are sending this, be weary. Also if they refuse to make contact with you using the ebay message system. They are avoiding leaving any marks on the internet. Force the buyer to use the ebay message system for communication. Try not to communicate using your personal email address.

Most importantly do not send to other addresses listed from the buyers PayPal account you will not be protected under seller protection from PayPal and you will be out of both money and item. This is called a chargeback scam. I have had to educate myself since I have been selling a lot more online. A chargeback scam is a scam where a person will use a person PayPal account which has been compromised. Then they will use this person account to buy things on eBay. But the trick is that they will ask you to send it to another address then listed on the PayPal account. Now I know if you have done business in the earlier days of eBay you will not see a problem with this. However in these times it is a major indicator that they are trying to scam you. DON’T FALL FOR IT. These scams are rampant on eBay and are trying to defraud hard working sellers. eBay should definitely do more about protecting people and educating people. So should PayPal since they work so closely together.

Make a strong seller policy and list it on your eBay auction page this will let the scammer know that you are serious and are aware of their schemes. This will not stop a scammer though; they will still pay for you item making you believe they are legitimate customers. Stay calm it’s better to just refund them the money back and relist the item if you feel that this person is trying to scam you. Go to the eBay resolution center and get your final value fee back. It takes a while but you will get your final value fee back. I have had to do this at least a dozen times (crazy right) before a legitimate customer came along and bought the laptop. It’s better to pay the re-listing fee then to lose out on everything. I didn’t know selling on eBay would be such a nightmare; it has become a battle of the wits. Goodguys vs Scammers.

So to reiterate signs to look out for

    * Too quick to buy from you with out intelligently bidding.
* Let scammer know you are on to them by making a strong seller policy clearly listed on your auction page. Make it in big red letters if you wish.
* Buyer makes extraordinary demands when your policy is clearly listed on your page.
* Buyer refuses to use ebay message system to communicate.
* Buyer wants you to send to another address than whats listed on the paypal account.
* Knowing what the Chargeback Scam is. They will report the payment as fraud and leave you with no money and no product.
* Also pay a close look at the buyers history. If they have comments from only one seller, over and over and over again then something is definitely funny.
* Go to eBay’s resolution center and go to PayPal’s resolution center to get more information and educate your self so you can be a smarter seller

Now that you have been educated the right way happy selling and happy holidays.

As you have may have undoubtedly noticed there are tons of unboxing videos on the net. let me add to the list. Here is a video which i haven’t had much time to upload this is actually quite old. I was suppose talk about how great it is and describe all the specs on it. But I will make another video at a later time showing cooler stuff then just talking about a laptop. The good thing about these videos is that with a laptop like this which you cannot see in a regular store you can kinda get the feel of what it would be like to hold it in your hands. I virtual tour if you will, or maybe it just someone showing off how they got one before you could. This isn’t a full review its more like a mini one. This is just in case you might have been in the market for one and wanted to see how it looks before you pulled the trigger and purchased it.

As I have stated on a previous post the psp desperately needs a new method for typing. Simply because the current method sucks horribly. l0rdnic0 from psp dev has come up with a way to take the Xbox 360 chat pad and some how through the grace of God got it to work on a PSP. With a custom flashed chatpad and a modified version of piKey he was able to achieve this cool hack. His work has been uploaded, check out the video proof which I linked above. I feel sony should take a gander at this and think; maybe in their next console they can make a better keyboard so people wont feel the need to make there own.

Welcome to hacking college 101 I’ll be your professor today and in this class I will teach you all you need to know about saving some money and making college life a bit easier. With me being a student myself I can attest to how stressful things can become as well as how expensive books can be. So In this lesson I will show you how you can save money on text books. If your are in the gray area between receiving financial aid and not receiving financial aid then this is for you. If you are lucky enough to get a PELL grant then skip this entirely because you don’t need it. Buying books for school before the internet became a popular shopping destination, left you very little options. You either got the book from the book store or you didn’t. With this day and age you can find a plethora of online merchants selling books at discounted rates. Major sites such as amazon have been selling college text books for years. Its sold at a discounted rate yet it still costs quite a bit of money. So what is a college student to do? I have an idea for you, instead of buying that book how about renting it. Yes I said renting, for a semester or longer if needed. Does such a thing truly exist and what are the benefits to renting as opposed to buying. Yes renting books does exist (www.chegg.com) with renting you can save not only money but its good for the environment. This method is beneficial because the same amount of paper is being circulated which means more trees for the good ol’ earth. Chegg will plant one tree for every book that you rent ultimately lowering the rate of deforestation. Now there is nothing wrong with owning the book. If you prefer to add the book at some point to your library you can only do that if you own it. However the thing about college text books is that they come out with a new edition every year. So if you did decide to keep it for your own reference when the new edition comes out then your will be outdated. Maybe some important information has been changed. No need to create clutter if you dont plan on keeping the book. Just rent it with chegg use it gain the knowledge and when your done send it back.

Class dismissed — Now that I have saved you enough money, you can have enough for that drinking habit you picked up.

If you robbed or killed someone last Christmas to score your self a Wii for your little one (brat) or for your self I feel your pain. Sometimes the most coveted toys, gadgets whatever you like to call them, can be extremely hard to find. Which in turn makes them more coveted and harder to find. The manufacturers know this and couldn’t be happier with the results because it means they are popular and richer. With this endless cycle of evil going around, there has to be some good guys out there to help. Well yes, you can look all you want store by store or you can try an availability checker which will do all or most of the work for you. I my self wanted a MSI Wind u100 for like a million years now and could not get one to save my life. So I remembered a site back when I was looking for Wii’s and I checked it out and low and behold there were some MSI laptops available for purchase. Hey maybe you can find something you have been looking to get your paws on for sometime. Check it out

I have owned a psp since it first came out and one thing about it has always been a gripe of mine. The fact that typing on it sucks big time. There hasn’t been much of an effort to correct how terrible typing on a psp can be. It’s frustratingly difficult and a pain. Then I started playing with writingpad a shape writing technology app for the iPhone where you can draw the word instead of typing it. If this can be maniputated or interpreted so words can be scrolled on instread of touched could be loads easier then clicking on a button a hundred times to get to the letter you want. Lord help you if you missed a letter then you have to start over to find the letter you just missed. But if you can just draw on a virtual keyboard then typing will in essence be much easier. Just an idea out there for any one ***cough Sony*** who would like to incorperate this technology in to their products.

That’s right is not just men out there who are the players and relationship wreckers out there. Women have just as many schemes which can be quite misleading and extremely devious. So let me put you on to a few of them and help sharpen your senses or make you more paranoid, which ever comes first.

1. “The Pimp Phone”

We tend to think nothing much of this fact at first. But at closer evaluation why does any one need more then one cell phone. Well it’s obvious that she has ulterior motives. With this method she is keeping all of her men separate from the others. Technology is becoming more prevalent in everyday life, but come on now this is a little too much. How many cellular phones does a person actually need?

*Note, If she isn’t a Doctor or Lawyer or some other profession that requires this then she doesn’t need more the one phone.

2. “Call me Susie”

There are a plethora of ways to mislead people especially using the cell phones or other gadgets.
Cheating women will change the name of her secret man to a female name in order to create a clever ruse. Leaving the man to believe innocently this is just one of her female friends. Women are more technologically conscience then you probably think and are getting better and more astute by the day.

3. “The Emotional Change”

Your woman is no longer the same sweet loving affectionate person she once was. Such a drastic mood change is a sign that things are not quite what they used to be. She could be looking for or has already found someone else. This is probably the easiest one to pick up on.

4. “Kissing Cousins”

Yes this is possible. Cheating women can be very clever and devious; morals go completely out the window. So you have believed all this time she has been spending quality time with her brother or cousin. But in reality, he wasn’t really ever her brother or cousin, it was all just a ploy. He is what you would call a fake family member created for the sole purpose of throwing off your senses. Morals are not an issue because her ethical routines are simply never being practiced.

5. “Pimp Name”

So your girl has a MySpace or you even met her on MySpace, maybe on some other site. She is well aware that she can no longer use the same screen name to talk to different men. So she will just create a new one. She could be on a new site, or even the same site with a new screen name. Same rule applies for Instant message names. This can be complicated and difficult to keep track since the internet is so vast.

So now that your senses have been sharpened, what have you learned today. Well if you cant trust her then you probably shouldn’t be with her in the first place. But if you are made aware of some of the tricks then maybe you wont get caught out there so unprepared. If you strongly suspect your girl is cheating on you the best thing to do would be have a serious sit down conversation and bring up how you feel.

WeDict vs WeDict which version is better the official app store version or the installer.app version. Well I asked my self this question and found the results to be surprising. You would think that anything officially from apple would be the winner but interestingly enough this isn’t the case. I have found the Wedict dictionary application to be more efficient using the installer method instead of the app store. Most people using Wedict from the app store would find it difficult to add new dictionaries or thesauruses as opposed to the installer version where you can just one click download new dictionaries with no problem.

App Store

How do you add new books I don’t see how you can do it, there is no option other then settings where you choose between two included dictionaries. English and Chinese to English. If I wanted something else lets say a thesaurus how would i get it on there.

Installer

You can load all types of dictionaries right from installer giving you more power over your application with less limitations.

Now I’m noticing a new theme here with the app store. They want you to sign up for a new account for almost every application you download. For Example the eReader app if you want new books to read you would sign up from you account and download new books to your phone. But what if you already have some ebooks why not have a method to just load it on the phone. This is not very effective since you will end up with dozens of user account with passwords you may or may not remember. My philosophy is to keep things simple the less things you need to sign up for the better.

So in my quest I was able to add new dictionaries to the iPhone 2.0 with a jailbroken iphone 2.0. I Installed OpenSSH from cydia installer. It works but its a little buggy, then I downloaded some dictionaries like Merriam Webster and a thesaurus put it in the folder where WeDict is located and bingo it loads it up perfectly fine under settings. You can do the same for the eReader app if you have ebooks in the same format and just load them up and happy reading.

UPDATE It seems as though after adding new books to Wedict it corrupts the application and makes it unusable. I also noticed they now have a pro version a pay version of wedict which enables you to add new dictionaries and thesauruses. I’m looking to see if there is a work around.
