I would love to buy an amazon kindle. But at the moment with my current load of school text books it would seem impractical to carry both a kindle and my text books. Ideally the kindle should be able to be my only book so to speak. So why is it the manufacturers of school text books do not see the enormous potential that this will have for students worldwide. My belief is that the manufacturers are afraid it will increase the amount of pirated books since it is not a physical book. It would much easier to duplicate books. Much like the iPod’s popularity has increased the amount of pirated mp3’s. The record industry has suffered for it. That is until record labels partnered with apple and began to sell affordable mp3’s. Now if only a similar partnership with amazon could be created to make school text books affordable and downloadable on the kindle. The stress from carrying many books or even forgetting books will be alleviated with this one device. But to be honest pirating books sounds like a harmless act. Why stop people from wanting to learn. Why not just allow people to become smarter for free. Well…to answer this free doesn’t pay the bills. Schools are a business and if they wanted people to truly be smart..well schools would be free. There is a price for everything. Many people (including students) would be willing to pay that price if it brings added comfort and convenience.

Saturday, December 13th, 2008I understand why spam is around, its actually been around since before the internet became its new stomping ground. Any type of forced mass market advertising is spam in my book. Remember those aol disks that use to show up all the time, whether you asked for it or not. Remember those coupon books and magazines that would show up at your door even when you haven’t subscribed to anything. At least that type of forced marketing had a purpose which was to get you to buy things. Internet spam is a dream for spammer because it does not cost anything to the spammers and that’s why they tend to flood you with it. But how about the useless type of spam that people get in their emails and on blogs. Where you receive a comment with nonsense as a response. No pingback no link to another blog no message no scam no nothing. Whats the purpose if this just to piss people off. Is this the new strategy for the spammers or are the just testing out their new spam technologies on the public. This seems like a little problem but this is a huge issue for the public. The government might need to do more to stop this. Maybe a slap on the wrists is not good enough to get the point across that this is a serious crime. What can truly be done to correct this problem. I understand that no only truly owns the internet but no one truly owns the sky yet we patrol that more than the internet. If someone were to tell me that they were a spammer I would punch them dead in their face before they could finish telling me.
Black Friday Door Buster?
Thursday, November 27th, 2008Will I be busting the door down this Black Friday November 28th 2008. I told my self last year that I would do it to get a good laptop deal. It looks like that same Laptop deal is available again this year too. Will I do it? I am still contemplating it. However a few factors might hold me back, such as, how much tryptophan I consume, the weather, just not feeling in the mood, or not wanting to fall for the bait and switch. Now should I be surprised if they pull the ol’bait n switch on me. Lure me in with such a good deal, make me wait for hours on end for it and then say “oh we don’t have any in stock”. So I might as well buy something else to make my self feel a little better right? No one hates the bait and switch move more than I do. Its a low down dirty trick that shouldnt be played on people especially when you make them wait in the wee hours of the morning on a deal that may or may not have existed in the first place. I’m not havin that if I cant get the item listed on the sale im just walking out and going home and getting my sleep back. This economy is making me take things (especially shopping) a lot more seriously than I would have before. So…I will keep this blog updated on if I will join the black friday mob.
Bad grammer “The bios does not be installed”

After one of my harddrives failed I was greeted with this humerous message. “The bios does not be installed” if you have an equally funny message please share because I am sure there is more. .

Always make a backup
Monday, June 23rd, 2008Well it was bound to happen I flashed a PSP and it went bad. I should have made a backup of the flash0 but for some reason I didn’t do it and now I’m stuck with a partially functional PSP. So what is todays lesson always make a back up of what your working on. Especially if it is something important. It doesn’t matter if its a word document or flashing the bios on your computer make a backup somehow so you can at least have a chance to restore in the event of a catastrophe. In my case its just another lesson learned. So maybe I can use this as an excuse to get a PSP Slim, maybe I can break that too lol.
