Spoke too soon. I looked again and did find a Bluetooth app via for iPhone that provides a work around. Shortcoming is you use the play/ pause button to toggle. It doesn't actually enable the fast forward / reverse buttons (that seems to be in Apple's court to resolve), and the app costs $5- for the ability to fast forward and rewind!?

Good to know but I think I'll wait for the update.

Thanks for this post. I just dusted off my old oakley rokrs and tried to pair it with my Iphone. Glad to see I'm not the only one with this issue and we know what the issue actually is. I'm a big fan of apple- huge on the cool factor and functionality of most of their products but come on! The original post was over a year ago and they still haven't resolved this? ( no apps either from what I can find). Hopefully the new os they deploy for the iPhone and ipad this summer will aleviate this issue. Here hoping...

Yeah this is disappointing many people and the new firmware update 3.01 did nothing to alleviate this problem.

Well actually the problem with changing music tracks is NOT an A2DP issue - it's about a totally separate standard called AVRCP - to remotely control music playback (like FFwd, Skip, Back etc.) So unfortunately a full implementation of AVRCP is not in iPhone 3.0 OS -- but that's the great thing about the iPhone - a software update can unleash new functionality. I'd suspect that AVRCP will get implemented soon enough in future releases of iPhone OS.

A2DP was critical for *STEREO* support. But another benefit is much higher quality audio codecs are part of A2DP as well, so the market for stereo headsets and Bluetooth speakers should get interesting in the months ahead.
